Hi Everyone! I am back with a topic which we all want to venture into but are really not sure of- Highlighters!
A bit of glitter & glam is something we all love but always afraid that we’ll overdo. Well, I was for sure before trying.
Before getting introduced to a proper highlighter, I used Lakme White Kajal as highlighter in the inner corner of my eyes and right under the eye brows on brow bone- a very little, was always afraid to highlight so much. (Well it’s stark white so you have to be careful anyways :P)
Now I have 3 highlighters and all are from Sugar Cosmetics- Contour De Force Mini Highlighter in the shade 04 Royal Rose, Contour De Force Highlighter 01 Champagne Champion, Glow and Behold Jelly Highlighter 01 Gold Goal.
I have fair complexion with neutral undertones so I feel I can pull these shades easily.
Sugar products are easily available offline in shops and counters as well as across online channels like Amazon, Sugar online store, Nykaa, Purplle, Flipkart, Myntra and so on.
Good thing about Sugar products is- they are Paraben free. Also, packaging of palettes and other products is cardboard and not plastic- so it’s is Eco-friendly as well.
Sugar Contour De Force Highlighter 04 Royal Rose:
Royal Rose is a powder highlighter. It’s pink based(pink champagne color) and gives a rosy look after applying.
I feel people with cool undertones can enjoy the beauty of this highlighter more.
I purchased Sugar Bridesmaid Kit and received this as part of it. I really like kits offered by Sugar Cosmetics and enjoy being introduced to products which I usually don’t buy individually.
Singly, it retails for Rs.399 for 4 gm of product which I feel is okay considering the quality.
Sugar Contour De Force Highlighter 01 Champagne Champion:
This one is also from the same range as above so it’s a powder highlighter.
It’s a gorgeous champagne gold shade. I feel people from fair to medium skin tones are going to like this highlighter irrespective of their undertones.
I used it in the inner corner of my eyes for Diwali make-up and really loved the effect it gave. I have small eyes and this highlighter added just the perfect amount of pop I needed.
I purchased Sugar Contour De Force Face Palette in the shade 01 Subtle Summit from Myntra. This highlighter is a part of the palette. (I am planning to do review on this palette soon)
This highlighter comes in individual packaging as well and retails for Rs.399 for 4 gm of product.
Sugar Behold Jelly Highlighter 01 Gold Goal:
Well, I have to say this one is my personal favourite. I had researched on this a lot and was planning to buy. Luckily it was part of November’20 FabBag so I didn’t have to purchase this.
This indeed met my expectations. The way it reflects light, I just love it. It gives a very soothing feeling on skin and doesn’t even feel like you have applied something heavy on your face.
Talking about the shade, it looks like deep gold in the container however it’s warm champagne gold. I feel it’s best for fair to medium skin tones.
This retails for Rs.499 for 3 gm of product- I feel pricing is fine since it’s a jelly highlighter and quality is really good.
I applied this highlighter on the tip of my nose just to try it and oh my- the kind of glow it gave, I just felt like to keep looking at my nose. 😀
Good thing about this highlighter, which I personally like is- very subtle glow. It’s not over-powering. I feel it can be applied under foundation to have a natural glowing look.
There are two more shades in this range- 02 Peach Pioneer and 03 Bronze Bellwether.
Peach Pioneer would look very flattering on fair to medium skin tones for rosy look and Bronze Bellwether is a great option for deeper skin tones.
Royal Rose vs Champagne Champion vs Gold Goal:
Well, it’s evident from above pictures that all three highlighters are very beautiful. These don’t have any chunky glitters and look subtle.
Personally I liked jelly highlighter more because of the texture and amount of light it reflects.
Now, the most important question-
Would I recommend to buy these highlighters?
Well, these are amazing highlighters and also budget friendly- so I definitely recommend.
But which one to buy and which one you will like more- I feel it depends on personal choice.
However, if you want to buy and not sure about which one- please comment below and let me know your preference, I will try to help 🙂
I would love to know your views about this review as well as let me know if you have tried these products and what was your experience.
Looking forward to your reply.
Goodbye till next post! Happy Life!
